Operational Mechanism of RDF Making Machine

The RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) Making Machine converts solid waste into a homogeneous, high-calorie fuel pellet through a sequential process of preparation, compression, and formation:

• Material Preparation & Feeding：Pre-shredded waste (e.g., plastic, paper, biomass) is uniformly fed into a hopper. An optional drying system may first reduce moisture content to the optimal range (10-15%) to ensure compaction efficiency and prevent mold.
• Conveying & Conditioning：A screw conveyor transports the material to a conditioning chamber. Here, binders may be added (or the material is heated) to increase plasticity, ensuring the diverse waste components adhere together during compression.
• High-Pressure Compaction：The core mechanism involves a rotary drum with molds (or a piston press) driven by a heavy-duty motor and reducer. Material is forced into these molds under extreme hydraulic or mechanical pressure. This compression densifies the loose waste into a solid, cylindrical shape.
• Extrusion & Cutting：The compacted material is extruded through the molds. A synchronized cutting knife trims the extrudate into uniform RDF pellets of a specific length (typically 30-100mm) as it exits the drum.
• Cooling & Discharge：The hot, newly formed pellets (warm from compression heat) pass through a discharge chute. They are then typically air-cooled to room temperature, which hardens the pellets for stable storage, transportation, and combustion in boilers or cement kilns.
